CASA

When your heart finds its home...

Turquoise Yachts is proud to announce the details of its latest concept design CASA.

80M

This very special concept by Jonny Horsfield, owner and design director of H2 Yacht Design is breaking the rules and creating a “home” feeling at sea. With her futuristic lines combined with traditional cozy elements, CASA promises more than a yacht.

“I have often wondered what my own yacht might look like if i were lucky enough to commission one for myself! I have spent 30 years trying to interpret my client’s wishes and dreams, but for once i decided to focus on my own dreams of what my perfect yacht might look like!

The opportunity came up recently when Turquoise Yachts invited me to design a completely new design with no brief or limits to fit on their existing tried and tested 80m platform. First, i added a plumb bow as all designers love a plumb bow, and i wanted the look of the yacht to be striking, modern and unique whilst remaining elegant and sleek.

The biggest feature is probably what i call ‘the pod’! I wanted to prioritise my owner's accommodation and inspired by miami-style modern apartments, i created ‘the pod’ mounted on the upper deck as my floating apartment that was elevated above my guests. This gives the yacht a unique look that’s truly functional.

I have my own balcony aft as well as a private deck forward with a jacuzzi and sunbeds, whilst my friends are well catered for down on the main deck, where i located them in 5 Guest cabins with large windows and a quiet location away from the machinery spaces. They have direct access aft to the main event.

The aft deck is where we will hang out, utilising the large pool that’s semi-covered from the sun. A waterfall from the jacuzzi above creates drama. Directly forward is a day lounge or beach club with its bar and socialising area.

On starboard side i put a compact gym, sauna and steam room, which is essential for me and my guests to remain fit and healthy throughout the holiday. A large cinema is also located midships for those quieter evenings.

I located the main tenders forward of the guest cabins, which i think is the best place for them, along with a touch-and-go helideck above for emergencies. In conclusion, i have tried to review what is essential and non-essential on a yacht and refine it to how i see the perfect yacht.”
