HERITAGE

The history of Turquoise Yachts goes back to the 1970's, with the building of Turkey's first yachts under the Proteksan and Turquoise brands.

1977

Noble Lineage - Building Turkey’s First Superyacht Under the Proteksan Brand

The 1970s saw a change of winds for Turkish yacht building. Traditionally focused on wooden Gulets, Proteksan’s 32-meter Motivator was the first-ever Turkish steel and aluminium motor yacht. Up until today, these are the only materials we use in construction, and its an understatement to say we’re experts in them.

1984

Sizing Up

32m Motivator was followed by a number of larger projects including 41m Texas and 44m Galaxy Star, further cementing Proteksan’s status as a veteran superyacht builder.

“Galaxy Star was equipped with a stern garage that would house a Rolls-Royce when in Europe and a Chrysler when stateside.”

1997

Gamechangers - The Turquoise Brand & New Recognition

In 1997 Proteksan joined forces with another leader of the Turkish yacht building industry: Turquoise Yachts. The combining of experience and know-how immediately took the final products to a new level, and 50m M/Y Mosaique was heralded as Turkey’s first world-class superyacht. The first of many.

2000s

Iconic Yachts

From 2000-2014, Turquoise Yachts delivered 17 yachts, including iconic yachts Quantum of Solace, Turquoise and Talisman C.

2014

Joining Forces - Turquoise joins MB Holding

After acquiring Dutch builder Oceanco in 2010, MB Holding acquired a majority stake in Proteksan-Turquoise, renaming the brand Turquoise Yachts.

Present
